You don't need any kind of visa and you will be perfectly covered by 24 hour visa free transit if your entire transit time in China, from your first scheduled landing in Xi'an and until your last scheduled departure from Shanghai you have less than 24 hours. I have repeated this intentionally because many passengers tend not to include even the domestic portion of flight in the entire transit time and it has to be done.

You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in Prague that you will travel to Bangkok via China using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane. Upon your landing in Xi'an, you will clear immigration and you will also be granted a temporary entry permit because the next portion of your flight will be a domestic one. You should be quite fast, but also not too much worried because you will continue your journey to Shanghai by the same plane you have arrived from Prague.

Basically, this is it. Indeed, nothing too much complicated.
