About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

HND-> CAN-> HKG eligible for 72hr visa?

Hi, I’m traveling on an Australian passport as follows:
Haneda (Japan)-> Guangzhou
Guangzhou -> Hong Kong
I currently have a 1.5day stop in Guangzhou.
Would that qualify for 72hr transit without visa?

Saz, if you fly from Haneda to Guangzhou, and then take a flight or a conventional train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, you can enjoy the 144h visa-free transit in Guangzhou.
