About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From country A to China to Country A

Is it possible to get the 72 hours visa free transit if I'm coming from Singapore and flying back to Singapore within the 72 hours range?

I've a German passport and work permit in Singapore.

No, this is definitely not possible. This is a round trip and not a transit and for this reason your itinerary is ineligible for any kind of visa free transit scheme.

Anyway, you are advised to be a bit more creative and to create an eligible itinerary, like:

Singapore - Beijing - Kuala Lumpur - Singapore
Singapore - Beijing - Hong Kong - Singapore

Or something similar... Having an itinerary of this kind, you would be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area. By the way, 72 hour visa free transit in Beijing has been replaced by 144 hour visa free transit a couple of years ago.
