China Visa Query

I am going on a 14 day cruise to the Far East 28th Feb. Is it correct I don't need a Visa when on a Cruise ship? After the cruise I then fly to Xian Xianyag (from sat 14th March (stay 2 nights) until I then fly Mon 16th March from Xian to Beijing. Staying 3 nights.
I then fly from Beijing To Dubai Thurs 19th March, Then Dubai to Manchester

Do I need just the standard China Visa.

Diane, whether you need a visa for the cruise depends on the cruise route and layover time in China. You can look up details about visa-free transit schemes in China to see if you are eligible. Of course, for the later trip in China after the cruise, you need a standard China visa.

Hi Jane

I’ve heard something about 144 hrs transit allowance , would this not cover the 5 days I am actually in China after the cruise? I know I don’t need a visa for the cruise ref the destinations we stop at don’t require one

No, because you stay in both Xi'an and Beijing. This makes you ineligible for 144h visa-free transit.

Thanks very much for your reply. Its soooo excessive for the Vise £150 each for only a 5 day stay.
