You can rely on several options, but in my opinion, by far the simplest way is to apply for a long term, multiple entry Chinese tourist (L) visa. Canadian citizens are eligible for those long term visas, so you should ask for one when applying in Canada. At the time of your application you will clearly declare that you intend to travel to China more often and you should mention the fact that you will frequently visit your daughter working in Shenzhen.

After you have obtained a long term visa, you will book your flight to Shenzhen and upon your arrival you will be able to stay for 30 days. Anyway, you are perfectly allowed to apply for an extension of your stay at least 7 days before your 30 day stay expires. In other words, when the extension is granted, you will be allowed to stay for new 30 days, staring when your first stay expires. With this extension you will be perfectly allowed to enjoy completely legal stay of 2 months.

The long term Chinese, multiple entry visa fee for Canadian citizens is 110 Canadian dollars. However, due to the fact that Canadians have to handle it at Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC), they need to pay additional service fee to the center. There are 5 CVASCs: Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
