About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Vancouver to Shanghai to Tokyo. Visa needed?

Hello Saul.

If I travel from Vancouver, Canada to Shanghai (transit via Xiamen, 2 hour inside airport)

Then living in Shanghai for 1 day then depart Shanghai to go to Tokyo

Will I need Visa?

You must calculate the time from your scheduled arrival in Xiamen to your scheduled departure from Shanghai. If it is more than 24 hours then you need a visa. If it is less than 24 hours then you don't need a visa.

Thank you very much for your answer

So.. If I travel from Vancouver to Xieman (Feb 29th 5:10 am arrived), then transfer plane to go Shanghai and arrived at 9 am sameday. I am allow to walk around Shanghai until 5:10 am the next day (March 1st) right?

So if I have a flight from Shanghai to Osaka at 1:00 am March 1st. I am totally fine and no visa needed?
