About:China Transit Visa

Layover

I am from Slovekia. We are flying from Vienna to Manila, we have a techincal layover in Urumqi (2hours) and layover in Guangzhou (22hours) then we are off to Manila.
Same layovers on our way back just shorter in Guangzhou 2hours.

Do we need 2 entry transit G visa for our layovers? Also we would like to go out and see Guangzhou as well if possible.

Thank you

Dear, if your flight is operated by China Southern Airlines, you may not need the transit visa. I heard that the technical stop in Urumqi does not make passengers ineligible for the 24h visa-free transit, but if your total layover in China for one trip is longer than 24 hours, you still need a transit visa. Please confirm this with your airline.
