About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Cruising in asia

Ship leaves Hong Kong goes to Taiwan,Korea,Japan and then 3 days in Beijing ending in Shanghai.
Would like to spend a few days in Shanghai before flying to US.
Will we be eligible for the 144 hr visa ???
