About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Canadian Visa, 72 hr no visa applicable or not?

Hello,

My friend is flying from Soeul, Korea to Shanghai Pudong and he wants to stay a day and night to see the city, then fly out the next day or the next next day to Toronto, Canada. Is he applicable for the 72 no visa entry?

If your friend is a Canadian or a citizen of 53 eligible countries and if his itinerary is:

Seoul - Shanghai - Toronto

Then, he/she is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai. 72 hour visa free transit has been replaced in Shanghai by 144 hour visa free transit a couple of years ago.

Be informed that 144 hour visa free transit applies only for the transits that are longer than 24 hours. In case if his/her layover is less than 24 hours long, he/she will be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.
