Regarding the china visa and the current situation

Hi! so I'm an Indonesian passport holder and currently studying in HK. I used to have a X2 china visa for student last summer which I used it to go to Beijing for a summer exchange. Can I use my X2 visa (which expired right now) to go to Shenzhen, and what is the best and cheapest way to go to SZ from HK... thanks for your info

If your X2 visa has expired, you cannot use it for any purpose. Unfortunately, Indonesian citizens are not eligible for any type of VOA even if they have been issued a Chinese visa (X2 in your case) at the time being. If you have regulated your residency in Hong Kong, you can obtain a long term, multiple entry Chinese visa at the Office of the Commissioner and that is probably the best solution for your actual and maybe future travel plans to mainland China.

By the way, the best and by far easiest option to reach Shenzhen, if you have a prearranged visa is to take a high speed train from West Kowloon railway station. Another option is to take a direct bus. Anyway, for those who intend to apply for a Shenzhen VOA, the best option is to take North East MRT line to Lo Wu where they will apply for a Shenzhen VOA at Luohu (mainland Chinese side) border crossing.
