About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

24 hour visa exemption for Shanghai.

If cruising from Japan to Shanghai, then to Korea, then Taiwan then Hong Kong ...does this qualify for the 24 hour exemption?....is so how is it obtained?...port side once docked?

Yes, the route qualifies for the 24h visa exemption. If you don't plan to leave the ship, you don't need to apply for it actually. If you plan to do so, you can apply for it upon arrival at the port in Shanghai.
