passport validity

Question

my passport expires on 29/09/2020 and i need to attend a conference during 25th April 2020. i have 5 months of valid passport at the time of entry. do i qualify for a visa or i need to reapply for the passport and then go for a visa?

Unfortunately, you will have to renew your passport because one of the requirements for visa obtaining is at least 6 months validity of your passport at the day of your entrance in China. In case of a transit, this requirements is lowered to 3 months. Not to confuse you, you are really required to renew your passport on time.
