About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Macau to Shenzhen to USA

Shenzhen Bao An airport has a ferry terminal, Fuyong. Can I travel from Macau via ferry to Fuyong port and then apply for 144 hour entry at Bao An airport? I have ticket to fly back to USA from Guangzhou airport.

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to do that. Simply speaking, you cannot become eligible for any kind of visa free transit by traveling from Macau to Shenzhen. It is true, though, that you can obtain a 5 day Shenzhen VOA at the price of 956 CNY for US citizens, but the problem is in the fact that you cannot reach Guangzhou with this visa.

Your only option to reach Guangzhou and to enjoy visa free transit is by taking a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. In other words, by using this flight your itinerary would be:

Hong Kong - Guangzhou - US

This itinerary is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Guangzhou. Of course, your flight from Guangzhou to US should not have any additional landing within mainland China.
