About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stopover in Shanghai for two night before depart to Kuala Lumpur for 72-hour Visa

Hi,
I'm leaving New York to Shanghai for 2 days visit and after that will travel to Kuala Lumpur as my final destination. Do I need to apply Visa to China or just need 72-hour Visa?

If you are a US citizens and if this is your itinerary with all reported stops:

New York - Shanghai - Kuala Lumpur

Then you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area. Please, have in mind that 72 hour visa free transit has been replaced by 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai a couple of years ago.
