About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa for my 4 hours layover in Beijing if travelling to Vancouver.?

Hi..I am traveling to Vancouver from India and needed to ask you few things... I have a layover at Beijing airport for 4 hours...do I need any visa to continue my flight to Vancouver from there..?? Second thing...will I get my luggage straight to the Vancouver (yvr) airport...?? Third is .... How much weight for the luggage I am allowed if I am traveling from air China in a economy ticket. Thank you in advance.

1) You don't need any kind of visa because your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. You will just remain in the transit area of Beijing airport.

2) If you are flying on a single (through) ticket, and I assume that you do by Air China, your luggage will be checked all the way to Vancouver. You will check this detail once again at check-in in India where you will receive two boarding passes and there you will be told about your luggage. I repeat, in most cases like yours, the luggage is checked all the way to the final destination, to Vancouver in your case.

3) Air China allows 23 kg in economy class on international flights of your type.
