Do we need to apply for the 144 hr visa

British passport holders sailing into Shanghai on 26 Oct and flying out the same day back to Britain via Singapore, do we need to apply for a visa? We won't have stopped at any other Chinese port our cruise.

You don't need to apply for it. It is not a visa and you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.
