About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

Can an American apply for a Z-visa in South Korea?

I live and work in China and have a residence permit for China, but my company in China screwed up and now I'm on a one month humanitarian visa.

Is it possible to go to South Korea and apply for a Z-visa and then come back to China and get my residence permit? If not, where do you suggest I go - Thailand, Hong Kong, etc.?

James, it's possible to apply from South Korea, but I advise you to go to HK to try your luck.
