About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Seoul- Beijing-Ottawa

Hello, I had a tourist visa for China that just expired. I am currently in Seoul, and plan on making a trip to Beijing for 2 days, then head back home to Ottawa. Do I need to provide an itinerary and hotel booking for Beijing to get the 144 hour transit visa?

The itinerary is not required but you may need hotel booking when applying for the entry permit to tour around Beijing.

So coming from a 3rd country works, correct? Cause they say you have to go to a 3rd country.

A third country in this case means a country that is neither the country your trip originated in nor the country you will transit. In this case your first country is Korea, second China, and third is whereever you will land first after departing Beijing. Therefore Seoul-Beijing-Seoul-Canada is not eligible but Seoul-Beijing-US-Canada or Seoul-Beijing-Canada are.
