About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Visa needed?

I am a Nepali citizen traveling to Kathmandu from USA and have a 6 hrs layover at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport CAN and connecting flight to the destination international country. Do I have to process for the transit visa if I am not leaving the airport?

If your itinerary is:

US - Guangzhou - Kathmandu

And you don't have any additional stops, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Guangzhou and you don't need any kind of visa.

Regarding your last question, you don't need any kind of visa, but you will have to apply for free entry permit in case if your flights (tickets) are separated. In this case you have to collect your luggage and to perform new check-in, so you need to exit the transit area to do that. In case if you travel on a single (through) ticket, you will just remain in the transit zone of the airport and you don't need to apply for anything. At least, this is the case in most international to international flights on the same ticket.
