About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Arriving through a cruise ship in Shanghai and leaving next day to fly home, do i need a visa?

Arriving through a cruise ship via Celebrity Cruise ship on Oct 26 at 6:00 am at Shanghai port, our end of the cruise trip and we stay overnight in a hotel (booked already) in Shanghai to see city and then go home, fly back to Canada (via Air Canada Airline) at 5:50 pm, Oct 27. Do we need a visa for about 38 hours stay? Thank You.

In case if you are Canadian citizens, you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit scheme. Anyway, here are two conditions that have to be fulfilled:

- Your cruise should not have its last port of call, immediately before Shanghai, in mainland China
- Your flight out of Shanghai should not have any additional landing of nay kind within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its last port of call, immediately before Shanghai
