My wife and I are calling at Shanghai for two days on a cruise.

We will not be using a hotel as we will be on the ship overnight. We will be sailing into Hong Kong after Shanghai for four days (2 days on board ship and 2 days in a hotel) before flying back to the UK, We will be booking a trip with P&O prior to the cruise, do we qualify for the 15 day visa free policy for cruise tour groups to Shanghai.

Actually, you are probably eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai, although you could be also eligible for 15 days visa free policy. To be able to provide you a reliable and correct answer, could you just tell us where will you come from to Shanghai.

As far as we know, you will arrive to Shanghai from some other place (country), but it is a bit unclear whether will you arrive in Shanghai on a cruise as it appears from your terminology or by plane?

Please, we need a bit more information regarding your itinerary that will precede Shanghai and also whether you will have some additional, local cruises from Shanghai as well as trips to some other places around Shanghai.

I'm trying to guess and I think that you will take a P&O San Francisco to Hong Kong, 41 Nights (JKP) cruise. So, if I'm right, you are definitely eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai. You don't need a visa for Hong Kong, so only this detail with Shanghai was a bit undefined.

Hi Thanks for your reply. We join the ship at Sydney and we call at Brisbane then Manilla. We then go on to Shanghai where we will stay on the ship for 48hours. We will be booking trips via P&O for Shanghai. We then sail to Hong Kong .
