About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

3rd country rule

Do the countries A and C have to be the final origins and destinations, or can they be stopovers?
Example: Copenhagen - Amsterdam - Shanghai and Shanghai - Paris - Copenhagen.
In this case, the inbound and outbound flights are from 2 different countries (Netherlands and France) but the country of first origin and final destination is the same (Denmark). Does this qualify?
