About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Is Hong-Kong a 3rd country ?

I will be coming from Paris, stay in Shanghai, then flight to Hong-Kong within the 144 hours policy.
I have tried to log in to the online pre-registrations system.
However, I cannot Hong-Kong in the list of countries for departure.
Can you please confirm that Hong-Kong (and Macau) are actually 3rd countries for the 144 hours visa exception ?

Thank you

This online application just make troubles. Please, don't use it because you will be perfectly allowed to do everything manually upon your arrival in Shanghai.

Your itinerary:

Paris - Shanghai - Hong Kong

Is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit under the condition that we are talking about the nonstop flights. Also, Hong Kong and Macau are really and undoubtedly considered as third countries for visa free transit purposes. You really don't have to bother yourself about it any more. You are perfectly fine.
