The time is ok, but you can’t fly Seattle-Beijing-Seattle without a visa.

Thanks for the answer! But why not without a visa?

Because visits to China require visas for most nationalities. Only transits open up the possibility of traveling visa-free.

What’s your exact itinerary? Seattle-Beijing-Seattle obviously won’t qualify for 144 hours visa-free transit.

That doesn’t qualify for visa-free transit because USA-China-USA is not a transit. You must get a visa, or change your flights, or add in a side-trip from Beijing. Otherwise you will be denied boarding at your origin.

Yes, your itinerary would then be compliant. Separate tickets are fine. You must actually fly to Seoul, of course. A round trip to Hong Kong is another option.
