About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Holding Malaysian passport transit in Guangzhou

I am planning to fly China Southern Airlines from Auckland - Guangzhou - Kuala Lumpur.

Would I qualify for a 24h visa free transit while Ia Guangzhou so I can see the city?

Your itinerary is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in case that your transit time in Guangzhou is less than 24 hours. To be allowed to exit the airport and to explore the city, you will apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Guangzhou. You have to be aware that the issuing of the mentioned entry permit does not belong among passenger's rights, but it depends entirely upon discretion of immigration authorities. In case if your layover is during the night hours, it is always a good suggestion that you book your accommodation in advance and to have a confirmation with you in hard copy.
