About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 Visa

I arrive from US at 315 pm on July 31 and depart for Japan at 10 am on August 6- Based on my calculations, this would qualify for the 144 Hour permit. Is my understanding correct?. Appreciate it.

As your flights are almost a year in the future, you should check back here nearer the time just to be sure. There is always a possibility that the rules have changed.

Yes, it is. You have perfectly understood that the arrival day is not counted against your 144 allowed hours.

By the way, this is not "144 visa", but 144 hour visa free transit. There is no visa at all. It is important to use correct terminology to avoid any possible misunderstandings.
