About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from Vancouver - Bangkok via Xiamen

Hey guys,

I'll be flying from YVR - BKK via Xiamen with a 4 hour stop. From what I see above, I will qualify for the TWOV with ease with an Indian passport. however, there are several websites that contradict it for Xiamen stating that this particular airport is ill-equipped. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers, R

You are definitely eligible to use the mentioned itinerary because it perfectly fits within 24 hour visa free transit rule. It is also true that Xiamen airport has earned some kind of not so bright reputation, but since the beginning of intercontinental flights, the authorities have done quite an effort to improve the overall conditions for transit passengers. In other words, the airport is not yet in the state that could be called good, but it simply functions and the operations are performed on time.
