About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am flying NYC to Delhi on the way there, i have a 10 hour layover at PVG, does this appy?

I am flying nyc to New Delhi both ways i have a layover in Shanghai, on the way there it is a 10 hour layover, so we thought we can leave the airport to go around. Would this visa apply to this situation? Thank you

Actually, this is not a visa, but 24 hour visa free transit. No visas at all.

Your itinerary is obviously eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need a visa of any kind.

As far as your layover time and your wish to exit the airport are concerned, you will apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Shanghai. Anyway, you should be aware that the issuing of entry permit is not the passenger's right, but a privilege that is based entirely upon discretion of Chinese immigration authorities.
