About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

NYC(JFK) > CAN > MACAU > HK > CAN > NYC(JFK)

Hello! I am wondering if my travel plan is able to work, basically getting 2 144 hours visa free visit to mainland china. 7/5 - 7/11 in Guangdong, 2 days in macau (by ferry) , 3 days in HK (take plane back to Guangdong), 7/15 - 7/21 in Guangdong. Also to clarify, only the 3 main airports in guangdong will give the 144 hour visa free visit pass, so flight is require to go back to guangdong the second time, correct?

Yanna, it is visible that you perfectly understand what you should do. Hats off to your background work regarding the rules of 144 hour visa free transit. So, yes, you are allowed to enjoy 144 hour visa free transit twice within short period of time because there is no limit as how many visa free transits one can have in a certain period of time.

Also, you are correct that you can use a ferry from Guangdong province to Macau. Here just one detail. You will take TurboJet ferry from Shekou port in Shenzhen to Macau. You will buy your ferry ticket through TurboJet website ahead your departure from NYC. You will print it out and have that printout with you ready to be presented in both NYC and Guangzhou. Also, you should be aware that you really have to take exactly that ferry you have bought your ticket for.

In the end, it is correct that you will have to take a plane from Hong Kong on a direct route to Guangzhou in order to be eligible for new 144 hour visa free transit in Guangdong province. Basically, this is it. Enjoy your planned journey.

Hello, thank you for answering. Is there another port to go to macau? I will be coming from Taishan, which would take 2.5 hours to drive to Shenzhen.

There are many available ports to leave. Gongbei Port and Hengqin Port is closer, taking about 1.5 hours' drive.
