About:China Visa Application in USA

nyc >shanghai> tokyo>shanghai>nyc

i am planning a trip with this routing. a few days in shanghai, then off to tokyo, then back to shanghai before returning to ny. i only have 12 days total so i'm wondering if i need a tourist visq or if i can do visa-free

You can travel visa-free by taking advantage of the 240h visa free transit twice in Shanghai if you hold a USA passport.
