About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am traveling from JFK thru to Manila with a 39 hour layover in Beijing

It had been a 15 hour layover but I was just notified of the change. I had been planning on the 24 hour free transit. Can Iget the 72 hour visa free transit and stay overnight in Beijing?

In case that you are US citizen and that your itinerary has only Beijing as a stop within mainland China, you are perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing. You can definitely exit the airport and enjoy your time as you wish, including the stay in Beijing overnight.
