About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

Chinese visa enquiry

Further to my first question we are on a cruise calling at Manilla then overnight in Shanghai our next port will be Hong Kong will we need a transit visa. Thank you.

Stanley, if your itinerary is exactly as you have mentioned:

Manila - Shanghai - Hong Kong

Then you are perfectly eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai. I cannot tell you exactly whether you will be eligible for 24 or 144 hour TWOV because I I don't know exact time you will spend in Shanghai, but in any case and regardless if it will be less or more than 24 hours, you will be eligible for one of the mentioned visa free transit schemes and you don't need any kind of visa.
