About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, we will be flying from Sydney, Australia to Beijing.

We are spending 4 days in Beijing and then departing on a cruise ship from the Tianjin International Cruise Home Port where the first port stop is in Japan. Are we eligible for the 144 hour visa and do we get that when we land in Beijing? Thank you

Yes, you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area. You should just take care that your flight from Sydney to Beijing does not have any additional landing within mainland China and in Japan. You should bring your flight and cruise tickets in hard copy.
