About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Intend to visit Shanghai 25 Sept to Sept 30 on 144 hour visa then to Tokyo.

Will I need a second visa if travelling from Tokyo back to Shanghai 11 October and then straight back to uk on same day (11 October ), only staying in Shanghai pudong airport ? ( I have a return ticket Manchester to Shanghai , cheapest ticket ) . Thank you.

There isn't a non-stop flight between Manchester and Shanghai. Where do you transit? If it's in China you may need a visa.

Both of you itinerary legs are definitely eligible for visa free transit in SH. During your first arrival you will enjoy 144 hour visa free transit and during the second arrival, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit.

You should just take care that your flights don't have any additional landing within mainland China.
