About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Guatemalan traveling through Pekin

I have a Guatemalan passport and I will be traveling from New York to Thailand. I have a transit layover in Pekin for 2 hours.

I had a couple of friends that were in the same situation but they had trouble with Chinese immigration.

Could you please confirm that I could apply for this 24-Hour Visa-Free Transit.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Carlos, with the itinerary you have described, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Beijing. Of course, you need a valid Thai visa to be allowed to perform the transit in Beijing. There is no a single reason why would you have any kind of trouble with the Chinese immigration authorities. By the way, I sincerely hope that you are flying on a single (through) ticket because the time between the two flights is relatively short.

Could you, please, shortly describe the nature of troubles your compatriots had with the Chinese immigration authorities. Thanks.
