guatemalan traveling through pekin

I have a Guatemalan passport and I will be traveling from New York to Thailand. I have a transit layover in Pekin for 2 hours. I had a couple of friends that were in the same situation but they had trouble with Chinese immigration. Could you please confirm that I could apply for this 24-Hour Visa-Free Transit. Carlos, with the itinerary you have described, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Beijing. Of course, you need a valid Thai visa to be allowed to perform the transit in Beijing. There is no a single reason why would you have any kind of trouble with the Chinese immigration authorities. By the way, I sincerely hope that you are flying on a single (through) ticket because the time between the two flights is relatively short.Could you, please, shortly describe the nature of troubles your compatriots had with the Chinese immigration authorities.
