About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Final destination issue

Hi wondering if the third country can be a stopover rather than a final destination or do I need to book separate tickets? For example would this qualify: BOS-PEK and return PEK-BOS on Swiss connecting through Zurich so actual flight is PEK-ZRH-BOS and they see BOS as final destination. Thanks!

The rule is that only the immediate points, regardless of the nature of the stop, before and after your Chinese destination matter.

In other words, in the eyes of Chinese immigration authorities, your itinerary is:

Boston - Beijing - Zurich

Everything before and after the immediate points is irrelevant.

By the way, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.
