Holding Business visa, married a Chinese citizen

I'm holding a Business visa and recently got married to a Chinese citizen. Can I apply for a residence permit without going home country and changing my Business visa to a Q Family visa?

Yes, you can do this within China. You need to convert your business type to a Q type and then apply for the residence permit at the local exit and entry administration office.

How can I convert my M visa to Q one? At the immigration office staff said that the Chinese government doesn't do any types of visa for foreigners and it's necessary to make the new Q visa via your home country Chinese Embassy.

You can contact the local exit and entry administration to see if you are able to do this.
