About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Cruise from Shanghai

Hello
We are flying from the UK via Abu Dhabi to Shanghai and joining the cruise ship. Princess cruises will transport us direct to the ship.Are we eligible for the 144 hour visa free transit as we are not staying or visiting any other place in China except Hong Kong and we don't need a visa for there. ??

Lesley, you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit since your entire transit time in Shanghai will be probably less than 24 hours. Anyway, your itinerary has to fulfill the following conditions:

- Your flight to Shanghai should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its first port of call
- Your cruise should not have its first port of call, immediately after Shanghai, in mainland China

If your itinerary has fulfilled the above conditions, you are definitely eligible for visa free transit in Shanghai.
