About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

visa needed for a german to make a layover in Pekin or Beijing?

Hi ,i,am planning a trip to Bangkok ,but looking at tickets i may need to may a layover in either Pekin or Beijing ,would i need a visa if I want to visit the city in my layover?

Could you please, just take a look at your itinerary options because Pekin and Beijing are the same city, but with slightly different names in different languages.

Regardless of the name, in case that you will have to make a layover in Beijing, if your passport is among 53 eligible countries and if your itinerary is something like this:

Europe - Beijing - Bangkok

You don't need a visa. You can enjoy 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in relation to the length of your stay in Beijing.
