Do we need a chinese visa if we have layover in shenzhen for 5hrs?

My sister and i visiting seoul, korea w/ Air China. She has an American passport and I have a Philippine passport, and we’re not sure if we need a visa when we have a layover in Shenzhen Bao-An International Aiport for 5hrs
