About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Going to Macau from Shenzhen

Hi, I have NZ passport and my travel itinerary is like this:

(1)
Auckland-Shenzhen (will not be staying in shenzhen)
Shenzhen-Macau (Macau 1 day)
(2)
Macau-Shenzhen
Shenzhen-Shanghai (1 week in shanghai)

I understand that I will definitely need a China visa for (2) when I enter from Macau for Shenzhen and Shanghai. But I'm wondering is it possible to get the visa-free transit for the Shenzhen transit (1) when I first arrive because I'm going to Macau that day? Thank you for your help.

For stops under 24 hours you are only eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. However under the 24 hour rule, you cant be in transit in Shenzhen without a visa when the next stop is Hong Kong or Macau. You will want to apply for a double or multiple entry visa.
