About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travel from Bangkok to jfk but transit at Shanghai pudong by China eastern

Hi I am Thai who hold Thai passport. I will travel from Bangkok to JFK in aug whereby transit at Shanghai pudong for 3 hours. Do I need Chinese Visa?

No, you don't. Your entire itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.
