About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24hr or 144 hour possible for me?

Hi I am looking to travel to Beijing to accompany someone on return flight. I will either be there under 24 hours or 1 night. I am from the uk but looking to fly from Amsterdam-Beijing then Beijing-Paris. Will this qualify for either stays without visa? If so would it have to be on one ticket or could it be 2 separate tickets if this is cheaper? Thanks

Your intention is definitely fine and you are eligible for both, 24 and/or 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing in relation to the time your transit will require. Of course, your itinerary has to be, as you have mentioned:

Amsterdam - Beijing and Beijing - Paris

Anyway, you should be warned that your mentioned flights should not have any additional landings!

Also, having two separate tickets is perfectly acceptable and if such an option is cheaper that a "standard" return ticket, it is more than logical you will go after the two separate tickets. Keep in mind to have your flight tickets in hard copy, ready to be presented to relevant authorities.

If I'm right, your entire itinerary is:

Dublin - Amsterdam - Beijing - Paris

This itinerary is perfectly eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing. The rule says that only the immediate points before (Amsterdam) and after (Paris) your Chinese destination (Beijing) matter.

Enjoy your trip, you don't need any kind of visa.
