About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does it count when i come from Hongkong?

Im planning to travel to hongkong, 3 days later fly to shanghai and another 3 days later from shanghai to Saigon, vietnam.
Now in Hongkong i think i dont need visa, but what about shanghai and the 72-hour free entry policy? Does it count when i come from Hongkong?

Your itinerary, if you have mentioned all your stops en route, is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit because Hong Kong is considered as the third country for visa free transit purposes.

You really don't need any kind of visa, for both Hong Kong and Shanghai and keep in mind that it is not 72 hour any more, but more generous 144 hour visa free transit. Keep in mind that for your entrance in Vietnam you will have to apply through eVisa, so have relevant documents with you in Hong Kong and in Shanghai because they will ask for a proof that Vietnam will issue a visa to you upon your arrival.
