Hello!

I was wondering if I am eligible for the 72 hour visa free.

USA --> Beijing (2.5 days) --> Tokyo (6 days)--> Beijing (2 days) --> USA

Yes, with the above presented itinerary and if there are no additional stops you did not mention, your entire itinerary is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing twice. 72 hour was replaced by more generous 144 hour TWOV a couple of years ago.
