About:Beijing Transportation Smart Card

When purchasing a Beijing Transportation Card

can I also have them top up and put 50CNY on a card besides 20CNY deposit?

Yes, besides the CNY20 deposit, you still need to top up some money on this card.

So the counter person can top up as well in one step, so I don't need to go to a machine and top it up right? So I give him/her 70 CNY and she will know what to do.

Yes, the staff will top up the card directly. You don't need to go to a machine.
