Holding Single entry chinese visa when going to Sanya from Xiamen. Does it count as exiting china?

Hello!
I am traveling to Hainan (Sanya) by plane in August from Xiamen. I am currently holding a Chinese X2 single entry visa.
Does entering Sanya count as exiting China (like Hong Kong or Macau) so that i will not be able to re-enter Xiamen when flying home? Or will i just use my X2 visa to enter Sanya?

Definitely no. Sanya and the entire Hainan province are considered to be mainland China in the same way as it is Beijing. Just to simplify... Your visit to Hainan (Sanya) from Xiamen will be treated as purely domestic flight in the same way as you were flying from Xiamen to Beijing. In other words, your visa will not be consumed.
