You don't require any kind of visa if your itinerary has fulfilled the following conditions:

- Your flight UK - Dubai - Shanghai should not have any additional landing in mainland China and Japan
- Your cruise should not have its first port call, immediately after SH, in mainland China
- Your cruise should not have its last port call, immediately before SH, in mainland China
- Your flight SH - Dubai - UK should not have any additional landing in mainland China and Japan

Your first stay in SH will be covered by 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in relation to your entire transit time, from your scheduled arrival by plane, until your scheduled departure by cruise.

Your second stay in SH will be covered by 144 hour visa free transit.

To conclude, please, just check your itinerary and if the mentioned conditions are met, you will enjoy comprehensive visa free travel.
