About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

We are Canadians leaving on a cruise in Hong Kong to visit Xiamen, then Shanghai, next Okinawa

Do we qualify for the 144 hour visa free ?

If your itinerary has two mainland Chinese ports in a row, you are not eligible for any kind of visa free transit option. To conclude, if you don't have any port between Xiamen and Shanghai in some other country or in Taiwan, you will have to apply for a Chinese tourist (L) visa.
