About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

LOS ANGELES > Beijing > Baiyun Intl. /. Take a separate plane to Bangkok

I am flying to Bangkok, but I am taking a different airline from Guangzhou to Bangkok. I am gonna be less than 24 hours in China altogether. Is there an issue?

This is perfectly fine. You are allowed to use two stops in China and still remain eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. Here, just one detail. The entire time in China is calculated from your scheduled arrival in Beijing until your scheduled departure from Guangzhou. If the entire time is definitely shorter than 24 hours, then you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in China. Also, separate tickets are fine, but you should have in mind to allow enough time in Guangzhou between the flights because here you have separate tickets. There should be at least 3 hours available for entire procedure.
